Dublin Travel Writing Workshop
James Joyce Centre
The Historic James Joyce Centre
DUBLIN TRAVEL WRITING WORKSHOP at the historic James Joyce Centre in the centre of Dublin, run by Joyce's sister's family. The house was was built in 1784 for Valentine Brown, the Earl of Kenmare, and is decorated with fine plasterwork. Outside in the yard, you can see the original door from No. 7 Eccles Street. In Ulysses, this is Leopold Bloom¹s address; the house itself was demolished to make way for an extension to the Mater Hospital, though the door was saved and is on loan to the James Joyce Centre. The Workshop is held in the Guinness Library, full of Joyce's work and with his portraits on the wall, so the inspiration of the great writer surrounds us.
"I will certainly recommend your next course to my friends" Vourneen, Dublin Travel Writing Workshop participant
